The Teardrop dulcimer is based on historical designs with a modern interpretation.This model provides well-balanced instrument with a mellower tonal character than Gernandt’s other models.It is basically the Hourglass design without the upper bout. Customers choose this model for its simple aesthetic quality vs the other “fancier” models.

 

The Teardrop Model comes standard with four strings (double melody, single middle and single bass). Other string options are available on request. This  mountain dulcimer comes standard with a six and one half fret.
