Mountain Dulcimers produce a sweet, soothing sound and are one of the easiest stringed instruments to learn to play. Anyone who can hum or sing a tune can  quickly learn to play it on the dulcimer: A diatonic fret scale makes the mountain dulcimer a great instrument for playing melodies. It is not limited to this most basic playing style. In the hands of experienced players, the mountain dulcimer becomes a very complex multifaceted stringed instrument. Gernandt’s career as a Luthier started by building custom  hand made dulcimers. He has developed three Standard Models, the Concert Dulcimer, Hourglass Dulcimer and Teardrop Dulcimer. Each model has its own unique blend of aesthetics and tonal voicing.
